EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

ANZ Bank and Visa are trialling a new iPhone case that turns the Apple smartphone into a mobile wallet. According to Visa country manager Vipin Kalra, virtual wallets are "in the future but that's definitely where we're headed".

We also bring you news from Gartner's Data Centre summit today, including NextDC's plan to create custom racks, power distribution and cooling systems, and the internal politics involved in moving to the cloud.

FEATURED COMMENT

"As I become more paranoid about my safety everywhere, it seems as though the biggest threat is from the Net - or more precisely - the ongoing threat caused by people who use Microsoft products from Browsers to Servers. The only apparent solution would be to punish people for using these products the way irresponsible people are finally being punished for texting while driving. "
