EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Today we feature two stories based on a panel discussion with two of Australia's biggest IT buyers, the Commonwealth Bank's Michael Harte and Westpac's Bob McKinnon. The two have starkly contrasting views on cloud computing, but agree in their opposition to Federal Government plans for a common IT banking platform.

We also have the first of what we hope to be weekly malware threat reports provided by the folks at West Coast Labs detailing what nasties they've caught in their Sydney honeynet. We hope you find this a valuable resource.

WikiLeaks remains in the headlines too - with a column penned by Greens Senator Scott Ludlam and news that the US Air Force is banning access to news publications covering the cablegate leak.

Changes to the portable account numbers for those moving between banks could propagate out to the individual banks. I believe ..."
