EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

We've had some superb entries in the iTnews haiku competition - get yours in before close of business and we'll announce the winner Monday.

On to more serious matters, wouldn't you just kill to be a 3PAR employee with stock options right now? On August 13, 3PAR shares were around US$9, now HP's latest bid has them three times higher at US$27 - and HP and Dell are outbidding each other by the hour.

And finally - some history - the DBCDE has found something to do whilst the Government is in caretaker mode, digitising Hansard records all the way back to 1901. So here is a record [PDF] from the first day of the Australian Parliament. And here is not one[PDF] but two[PDF] more important Commonwealth records, digitised with far more haste.
