Good afternoon,

The chief information officers at Federal Government agencies will now have to compete with other government spending priorities to win funding for projects, after the Gillard Government announced it would redirect a $447.5m funding pool for ICT elsewhere.

The money was to be drawn from cuts made under the Gershon review - its withdrawal represents a significant and damaging ICT policy backflip.

Also today, we find out what happens to Google's Wave team in Sydney now that the project has been cut...
