EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Must warn you, lots of iPad coming your way. Tomorrow morning it goes on sale in Australia, and today we report that Australia's major banks have developed optimised apps.

Did you see the results of our latest online poll? The question was: "Microsoft, Amazon and Salesforce.com want to host your data in Singapore. Does that compute with you?"

Over three quarters (76.75 percent) of the 600-strong respondents said they won't consider using a public cloud until the providers build a data centre in Australia. Food for thought.
