Good afternoon,

Yesterday Microsoft was trying to persuade users to upgrade their Internet Explorer browsers to either versions 7 or 8 rather than dump it outright, as France and Germany had suggested to their citizens.

Now the Redmond giant says it will have an emergency patch out overnight - more reason to stick with IE than go elsewhere for a "false sense of security"...

Also today, the latest on MySchool and the troubled Go card system.
