According to Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-CEO and co-founder, “Today, being a great place to work is more than your physical environment. When your values underpin what you do and the decisions you make, reimagining work for the next generation becomes easier.

“We need the best minds to work for us to make amazing products that compete in the global marketplace. We do what it takes to attract, nurture and retain those incredibly talented people.”

Cannon-Brookes also noted that earlier this year, the business announced a major shift in how it thinks about the ‘workplace’, allowing its staff to work from anywhere.

That is an especially significant decision given it struck a $1.4B deal with Dexus to build a 40-level skyscraper near Central Station, which will anchor the technology precinct being built there.

That deal involves a 15-year lease over what will be the company's global headquarters.

According to a company blog written by Erika Fisher, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel, "It’s been a big year for Atlassian: we began our transformation toward becoming a distributed-first company with TEAM Anywhere; we’ve nearly doubled in the size of our employee base; and we continued to use our voice to advocate for societal issues like climate, voting rights, and women’s rights – all without being physically together."
