EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

Telstra has admitted to tracking its mobile users' web use and storing data in a US facility. The data is being used to build a voluntary web filter, but customers were not told or given the ability to opt-out of the monitoring.

And the in-house data closet is facing a slow death in Australia, continuing to take up 74 percent of the country's total data centre space.
