EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

While the ACMA mulls a new code of conduct for mobile telcos, the European Union is getting on with business.

From tomorrow, European users can switch providers in a single day, get shorter contracts, be told of any "traffic management" used on the network and have minimum service levels spelled out in contracts.

In the wake of Vodafail, bill shock and skyrocketing complaints, iTnews can only wonder how long it will be before someone from government tries the same thing here.
