EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Macquarie Telecom has again emerged as the Australian IT industry's largest political donor, tripling the amount it spent in the 2009-10 financial year to over $263,000.

Also today, Microsoft teams with Canberra-based hosting company Uber to offer a "proof of concept" for a Government community cloud.

And use of the anonymity service Tor soars in Egypt following a week of unrest.

FEATURED COMMENT

"This is absurd. Bittorrenting itself is _NOT_ piracy. Whether bittorrenting is being used as a method of piracy is determined by the information/material that is being transported. Google are shooting themselves in the foot here. "
