EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The ACCC has struck agreements with VHA and now Telstra to provide 24-month warranties on any device sold under a two-year plan, but again an exception was made for Apple's iPhone.

Apple continues to insist on repairing iPhones internally, which the telcos say inhibits their ability to offer an extended warranty.

ACCC chairman Graeme Samuel expects the stand-off could result in iPhone plans being comparatively more expensive than those bundled with devices from Apple's rivals.
