EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The word of the day is 'availability'.

Compuware has released the results of a one-month study into the availability and response times of Australia's major banks - which holds some lessons for those organisations attempting to offer services to Australian customers from overseas data centres.

Twitter has also acknowledged today that users are seeing a lot more of that fail whale than they'd like. Hardly a business-grade application!
