EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

Google is in the mainstream media headlines today. The privacy watchdogs of several countries are leaning on the company after it admitted to capturing WiFi network data whilst roaming the streets to capture footage for the Street View mapping service.

Expect the company to remain in the spotlight - for better reasons - as it announces a new enterprise cloud compute and gaming app store at its I/O conference. Already the search giant has confirmed it will contribute its video standard to open source - stay tuned for more announcements later today.
