EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The big news today is that SAP has shelled out $6.5 billion to purchase Sybase - today we lead with a story that talks to execs from the local arms of both vendors.

But on a day that Microsoft and Skype announced significant new products, my favourite read was about an Indian outsourcer that is hiring prison inmates to do data entry for its customers.
