AMD launches mid-range DX10 cards

ATI Radeon HD 2600 and 2400 cards unveiled.

AMD has unveiled its mid-range and entry-level ATI Radeon HD 2400 graphics processors.

The new cards are the first to bring DirectX 10 support into the mid-range and entry-level markets, the firm claimed.

Both feature a Unified Video Decoder that allows hardware high-definition video processing, along with HDMI and a built-in high-definition audio controller.

The products feature native ATI CrossFire technology designed to enable a wider variety of multi-GPU configurations, for example by allowing consumers to place two cards in a single PC and link them to act in unison.
