World of Warcraft gets own credit card

World of Warcraft credit card can be used to buy game time.

World of Warcraft has announced a partnership with First National Bank of Omaha to offer a Visa Rewards credit card based on the online game.

The card is available to US residents and features a number of special benefits, including a reward program that allows cardholders to earn Warcraft game time as well as zero per cent APR for the first 12 months.

Blizzard and First National are offering a promotional free month of Warcraft time to cardholders on their first use of the card.

"In addition to the benefits it offers, we feel that the World of Warcraft Visa card is another great way for players to represent their gaming passion out in the real world," said Blizzard chief operating officer, Paul Sams.

Players earn a reward point for every dollar charged on the card, and can redeem 1,500 points at the Warcraft community site for a month of play.

There are 13 variations of the World of Warcraft card design available, including designs for all 10 playable character races, as well as for the Horde and Alliance factions and the World of Warcraft logo.
