Blu-ray gets 250 new titles, while HD-DVD expects $600m in sales for 2007.
Blu-ray will see almost 250 film titles added to its release library during 2007, but HD-DVD is currently claiming a victory in DVD sales.
Sony will release 100 Blu-ray titles during 2007. Time Warner is planning to release the same number, and Lionsgate has promised 40 to 50 high-definition DVDs.
Meanwhile, HD-DVD backers claim that North American movie sales will exceed $600m (£309m) in 2007.
However, Mike Dunn, worldwide president of Fox Home Entertainment, claimed that sales of Blu-ray titles would eventually eclipse HD-DVD.
Dunn expects Blu-ray DVDs to be outselling HD-DVD by 3.5 to 1 by the end of April 2007. "At that point it gets difficult for retailers to commit to HD-DVD, " he said.
