Microsoft sets corporate Vista launch date for month's end

The software giant has scheduled the launch for Nov. 30 for corporations to purchase the new version of the operating system. Microsoft will release its new suite of business programs - Office 2007 - on the same day. Home users will have to wait until January 2007 to obtain a copy of the software. Both Vista and Office were originally planned to be sold to non-corporate customers in time for Christmas. Earlier this year Microsoft said it would delay the mainstream launch of the programs until January, with large businesses still able to buy the two products this year. The software has been under development for more than five years and contains many new features including improved security, sound, networking technologies and an improved 3D interface. There will be six versions of Vista available. However, Microsoft has yet to announce the prices of the different versions.
