UXC merges infrastructure businesses

Creates mammoth ICT solutions provider.

Listed Australian IT solutions integrator UXC has revealed plans to merge its three infrastructure units into a single company.

From next week, Integ Group, XSI Data Solutions and UXC Connect (formerly Getronics) will operate under the name UXC Connect.

The new business was projected to have first-year revenues of $235 million, 1,500 customers and 650 staff.

Integ chief Ian Poole was named to lead the new entity, which he said would become the biggest Australian-owned ICT solutions company in the nation, provided it meets its first-year forecast.

“Our combined strength enables us to service large corporate and government organisations, and we will be particularly appealing to those who want to buy Australian,” Poole said.

UXC shares were up slightly on light volumes in mid-morning trade.
