Argus sells to US firm CommScope

Australian antenna maker acquired.

Sydney's Argus Technologies has been acquired by US firm CommScope for an undisclosed sum.

Two of the founders of the Australian cellular antenna maker, Bevan Jones and John Bonello, were to "continue in active roles" when the acquisition was completed.

CommScope said in a brief statement it would fund the acquisition "from cash on hand and funds available under [a] revolving credit facility."

No specific terms of the acquisition were disclosed. Further comment was being sought by iTnews.

Argus has been based at Norwest business park, a technology hub in north-west Sydney.

CommScope is a maker of RF solutions for wireless network infrastructure.
