Thieves have reportedly made off with 60 Lenovo laptops from a high school in Byron Bay.
NSW Police said the alleged offenders broke into the school after hours on Tuesday last week.
Along with student laptops, a data projector and sum of cash was also stolen.
The total value of the heist was alleged to be in excess of $31,000.
School students across New South Wales received Lenovo laptops as part of the Federal Government's computers in schools program.
A spokesman for the NSW Department of Education confirmed that the stolen laptops were delivered to the school as part of this taxpayer-funded program.
Police appealed to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
