RiAus, Australia's science and tech institution, had a Haiku match.
Winners of 'sci-ku', aged upwards of ten years old, were announced this week.
They took on topics that ranged from atoms to stars, skeletons and sand.
Entrants competed in three age categories: under twelve; teen; free.
iTnews enjoyed primary school submissions. Can you Haiku too?
Our challenge to you: write a technology verse with five, seven, five (syllables).
Please post your haiku in the 'comments' zone below to win some tech swag.
Inspirational entries from the 'sci-ku' match are included here:
"Atoms vibrating
Like loud speakers shaking to a beat
Playing the music of life"
-- Sarah Ellice-flint, Primary category champ, aged 12, New South Wales
"Orbiting, happy
An electron is kidnapped
By dreadful Fluorine"
-- By Matthew Cropley, 14 from South Australia, Secondary champ
"Wave's rim, a cuttlebone drifting -
Aeons of endoskeletons
Abrading to sand"
