Hardware vendor BenQ has launched a targeted marketing program to boost sales through its corporate, government and education channel.

BenQ partners would get sales and business development rebates, discounted goods, cooperative marketing funds, demonstration stock and “direct support” in the program, BenQ said in a statement.

VARs selling notebooks, projectors and LCD monitors to corporate, government and education customers would be eligible, the vendor said.

“VAR and ESR partners also act as a repair site for their own sales of BenQ product,” the company said.

The Taiwanese vendor had also appointed a new Australian sales team focusing on corporate, government and education.

Four business development managers, led by Melbourne-based national sales manager James Wright, would serve small and large business in all Australian states, BenQ said.

Wright said BenQ Australia was an endorsed government supplier on state and federal levels.

“This sector is one of BenQ’s primary focus points for 2005,” Wright said. “BenQ is the next vender to make a big impact in the corporate, government and education sectors with no direct business and all via the reseller channel.”

BenQ’s sales team would try to source end-user business and direct sales to resellers.

BenQ has manufacturing plants in Malaysia, Mexico, China and Taiwan. It has 15,391 employees worldwide, the company said.
