Suncorp extends Unisys payment processing deal

Between two and three years added to contracts.

Suncorp will continue to outsource back-end payment processing to a Unisys subsidiary under deal extensions announced today.

Unisys Payment Services said it will "continue to provide Suncorp's banking and insurance operations with cheque processing services for a further two years and direct entry electronic payments for a further three years."

The IT service provider has processed around 68 million cheque, direct debit and credit payment transactions annually for Suncorp, hosted the financial institution's payment system for electronic cheque image archive and retrieval, and provided Suncorp with settlement and clearing services since 2001.

Other major Unisys customers in Australia included RAMS Home Loans and Australia Post.
