TransACT brings 100 Mbps to housing units

Fibre services rollout extended in Canberra.

TransACT has inked an agreement with the ACT Land Development Agency to provide fibre-to-the-premise services to more than 1,800 medium-density home units.

The agreement covered all medium density unit constructions on Flemington Road in Canberra between Franklin and Harrison and up to Gungahlin.

TransACT claimed the agreement was a first in the supply of fibre-based services "to medium density units on a broad scale".

The company unveiled a fibre exchange facility a fortnight ago that will provide connectivity of up to 100 Mbps to 16,000 premises in new housing estates in Canberra.

Chief Ivan Slavich said TransACT "now has a significant number of agreements in place to provide homes and businesses across the ACT with our advanced FTTP network - and this number is growing by the day."
