Security vendor Fortinet has appointed Ben Teh as its Australia and New Zealand country manager following the sudden departure of security guru Peter Sandilands in May.

Teh -- who is also Fortinet's sales director for South Asia - said he was hoping to establish a market leading position for the company in Australia and New Zealand, replicating the success it has had in Asia.

Prior to joining Fortinet in 2003, Teh was country manager, South East Asia for firewall vendor Watchguard where he had management responsibility for India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia. Prior to then, he was southern region sales manager for defunct distributor Sealcorp.

Sandilands left Fortinet after only three months in the job. He said at the time: "We agreed that it wasn't working and I needed to do something else."
