Telstra hit by national outage

Cause still unknown.

An outage that lasted for approximately one hour crippled Telstra's national network affecting cable, ADSL and NextG connections in all states.

A Telstra spokesman said that the cause of the outage was unknown.

"We're working hard to figure out what happened and why," he said. "The priority for us was to get it fixed."

The outage, first reported on broadband forum Whirlpool, saw users express frustration.

They were able to access certain websites hosted in Australia, but unable to access international websites.

It was understood all services had been restored at 8:48AM.
