Local systems integrator and box builder ASI Solutions has struck a $2 million contract with the Australian Department of Defence.

Under the deal, ASI is set to distribute software from its partner, Top Imaging Solutions (TiS), to a major project by outsourcer Computer Sciences Corporation Australia, which will improve the efficiency of Department of Defence's accounting systems.

'We believe TiS presents a powerful solution for enterprise sites, with the online delivery of information from both structured and un-structured paper and electronic documents in close to realtime,' said Ken Lowe, ASI managing director.

'We are pleased to be selected for such an important project,' said Dr Ido Schechter, CEO of TiS.

'We are confident that our solution will streamline the Department's processing practices, and empower the accounts payable operations to process significantly higher volumes of forms, reduce processing times and increase information-capture accuracy,' he said.

Israeli-based TiS only recently finalised the deal that made ASI its Australian and Zealand distributor.

In a press release, ASI said that it worked with TiS for six months to establish the distribution partnership for Australia and New Zealand, and finally reached the agreement in early April.

ASI was currently seeking Australian channel partners for further distribution of TiS' solutions, and invited inquiries for demonstration of the technology.
