Despite Asus having Atom shortages, DTK has revealed a new Atom-based netbook alongside partners Intel and Microsoft.

The 'DTK Ebook i10' is another entry in thee long-line of competing Asus Eee PC clones.

The DTK i10 uses an Intel Atom N 270 (1.6 GHz) processor, and utilises Windows XP under the bonnet, as opposed to a proprietary Linux-based operating system like many other clones.

The system comes with 1GB of memory upgradeable to 2 GB, weighs in at 1.2 kilos including battery, and has a 10.2 inch LCD screen.

Standard networking features include a standard Ethernet port plus 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0.

The DTK Ebook i10 is also equipped with an SD/MS/MMC/MSPro card reader, and comes with the ubiquitous 1.3 Megapixel web cam.

The netbook is also pre-loaded with trial versions of Microsoft Windows Office, Windows Security and Windows Live. µ

The diminutive laptop is expected to retail for around $500 US, but is only being prepared for a 50,000 units per-annum Middle-Eastern launch. µ
