Asus powers up new Eee PC line

Asus has unveiled three new notebooks in an attempt to build on the success of its original Eee PC device..

The Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000(H) incorporate a built-in solid state drive for shock proof computing, and Asus claims that the new generation of machines consume even less power.

A new Super Hybrid Engine means that users can now enjoy longer battery life of seven to eight hours with a choice of performance and power consumption modes.

The Eee PC now offers a 20GB internet storage facility that allows a 5GB worth of downloads per day, file encryption and accessibility from Windows and Linux platforms.

The new models are available with a choice of Windows or GNU Linux, and Asus is also promising a wireless Eee Stick gaming accessory similar to the Nintendo Wiimote.

The Eee PCs come in six custom styles offering a choice of motifs and colours.
