Exinda accommodates growth with new research centre

Wide area network (WAN) optimisation provider Exinda opened a new $2.5 million research and development centre in Melbourne today to accommodate its growth and deliver solutions at a quicker pace.

The new 1,2000 square meter facility will house 25 engineers, who will now have the ability to virtually simulate speed improvements for organisations with up to 2,000 offices.

With the new centre, Exinda has also been able to use the Agile methodology for software development, which allows the company to produce software monthly rather than every six months.

Exinda experienced a 250 percent growth in 2007, and expects the same rate of growth for 2008.

“It’s a highly competitive business, there are a lot are bigger companies out there,” said VP of worldwide sales Jim Christie.

“When you’re a smaller, younger company, you have to innovate and create at a much more rapid pace to keep up with the larger companies.”

Exinda researches and produces WAN solutions that aim to improve the speed at which applications run between data centres and branch offices.
