Enterprise service provider Dimension Data has suffered a tragedy, with the sudden death of Steve "Chipper" Ross, general manager of Diminsion Data Learning Solutions (DDLS).

Shortly after Christmas, Steve passed away from a cerebral aneurysm, during a holiday trip to the US with his family.

He was responsible for the strategic direction of DDLS and the quality of training and other services.

Steve was a well respected cornerstone of the IT industry with 28 years of experience with both corporate Australia and technology vendors.

Prior to joining ComTech Communications and then DDLS in 1994, Steve was sales director with Future Technologies where he was responsible for business growth and training initiatives for customers. He has also worked with Fujitsu where he managed its internal computer centre and prior to that, he was the NSW education manager at Unisys. He has also worked with Qantas for 12 years, which included working as a systems assurance analyst.
