Photos: Metronode opens Silverwater data centre

The Silverwater data centre has been granted a Tier III accreditation by the Uptime Institute, and offers a power utilisation efficiency (PUE) of "less than 1.2", according to operator Metronode. (Photo: Metronode)

The facility covers over 16,800 square metres and will initially be home to NSW Health, the Department of Education and Communities, the Department of Finance and Services and Corrections NSW. (Photo: Metronode)

When fully operational, the Metronode Silverwater data centre will be capable of supporting up to 9MW of IT load. (Photo: Metronode)

It also boasts on-site rainwater retention and harvesting, and an intelligent site monitoring system, according to Metronode. (Photo: Metronode)
