Prime Minister Gillard tours the $60 million facility.

Macquarie Telecom's $60 million Intellicentre 2 in North Ryde is the managed hosting provider's second Sydney facility. It provides 2000 square metres of technical floor space for hybrid cloud, managed hosting and co-location services.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard opened the facility at an event heavy on politicans and industry luminaries.

The hallway to the facility's data halls prevents access through biometric scans and a massive mantrap built to ASIO T4 security standards.

The two data halls are built on an 800mm raised floor with hot/cold aisle containment systems.

They are powered by the facility's tri-generation plant, with massive, diesel-powered generators providing backup power in the event of an outage.
