Photos: Building Metronode's Melbourne2 data centre

Mar 7, 2012

Metronode has almost completed construction of the first stage of a Melbourne data centre that boasts a new approach to modular design.

Each of these blade rooms holds up to 30 racks or 26 lockable cabinets of IT kit, which can consume between 100kW and 300kW of power. Note that there is no raised floor for air conditioning underneath as per your traditional data centre.
