EDITOR'S NOTE
|
Good morning,
We've been running VMware and Microsoft hypervisors in iTnews Labs for a few months now while we wait for updates from Microsoft and VMware.
Today iTnews Labs reviewer Juha Saarinen gives a rundown of his experiences to date with Hyper-V and ESX.
The current state of play shows that Microsoft's hypervisor is a strong contender, especially for existing Windows shops and businesses starting out with virtualisation. At enterprise scale, VMware plays on its existing strengths, mature technology and ecosystem to provide a fully-featured - albeit complex - virtualisation solution.
We'll have more definite answers as soon as we can compare Hyper-V 2012 R2 to vSphere ESXi 5.5.
Enjoy.
