EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

NSW Police faces a fine of up to $12 million for allegedly installing more software than it had licenses for. The increased figure comes as it prepares to drag the software's local distributor into the long-running court battle.

And RailCorp has decided against auctioning off USB sticks lost on trains in future, after considering the cost and effort involved in securely deleting user data from the devices.
