EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

The Department of Health and Ageing has again signed IBM for its IT outsourcing without testing the contract via an open tender.

Today we also look at Kaspersky's local effort to offer security-as-a-service from Sydney data centres, as Liz Tay looks more broadly at this trend.

Meanwhile, we provide an update on the worldwide Skype outage. We also can offer a more detailed explanation on the cause of the outage.

Merry Xmas from the iTnews team!
