The networking giant has made a big play for energy and utility companies, devising rugged, heat-resistant routers and switches for their substations and in-home displays for their customers. Australian utilities, many of them Cisco customers, are evaluating the experience of Energy Australia, which has bought 25 rugged switches for their substations with an order potentially for another 175.
