Good afternoon,

Software freedom activist Richard Stallman made an unexpected appearance at a European Patent Office presentation at the World Computer Congress in Brisbane today.

He briefly interrupted the presentation carrying a placard that said: "Don't get caught in software patent thickets".

Also today, Telstra trials services on the Tasmanian NBN and Google has problems with hunters taking out their fibre...
