EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

Australia's finance industry is struggling to adopt public cloud computing, iTnews editor Brett Winterford finds in an in-depth analysis today.

While there are no explicit regulations preventing an organisation from outsourcing its data storage, the finance sector is governed by a conservative regulator that judges every offshoring deal on a "case by case" basis.

Some argue that case-by-case regulation is needed for the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) to keep up with the pace of change in technology and business.

What do you think?
