EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

After a tightly controlled press event in Canberra today, the Federal Government finally released the McKinsey-KPMG NBN Implementation Study.

Today we lead with a high-level overview detailing the Government's claim that NBN Co could become earnings positive and that the taxpayer's investment will eventually pay for itself.

This is by no means our final analysis. Online access to the report has been patchy and our journalists are literally pulling together fractured pieces of data from multiple documents to bring you the full picture in the coming hours. Stay tuned.
