EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

The NSW Government has released a tender for the construction of two data centres to meet the needs of some of its largest agencies.

Interestingly, the documents supporting the tender suggest a clear preference for building data centres in those regional NSW towns with low ambient temperatures - to enable the computing equipment to be cooled by outside air.

Provided these towns have the necessary power and connectivity options available, sounds like a good plan. What do you think?
