EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

A mixed news day for Microsoft, one would imagine. On one hand they inked an alliance with Nokia to put Office apps on the Finnish company's smartphones.

But then they lost a long-running patent battle with Canadian firm i4i - which means they now have to stop selling Word (or most likely remove the offending code).
