New Easy Broadband add-ons.

ISP Internode has given users of its Easy Broadband plans an option of unmetered uploads and faster shaping of excess traffic with two power pack add-ons launched today.

Internode touts Power Packs for upload, shaping boost

For a $10-a-month premium on their normal broadband package, customers would receive a static IP address, no counting of uploads in quota amounts and a shaped speed of 512 Kbps when they went over their monthly data quota.

A $30-a-month business pack option was also launched, offering a static IP address, unmetered uploads and "unshaped excess usage" charged at 0.5 cents a megabyte up to a maximum $299 a month.

Subscribers to the business pack would also get priority access to customer service resources and an 'on.net' subdomain.

At the same time the packs were launched, Internode cleansed its books of a number of complex broadband plans.

It 'grandfathered' about 60 broadband plans, replacing them with its Easy Broadband products and the two new power pack add-on options.

Product manager Jim Kellett said today that the ISP had gone from 78 plans to 18 by tossing out all its previous Home, SOHO and business broadband plans, and introducing the new power pack options for Easy Broadband.
