Canberra-based policy and program officers sought.

The Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE) is seeking policy and program officers to work on cyber-safety and the implementation of its internet filtering proposal.

Working within the Department's Content Programs Branch, the officers will research and prepare relevant advice, provide administrative support, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Ongoing, Canberra-based, APS level five and six positions are available in what a DBCDE spokesman described as "standard recruitment process".

Officers recruited under APS level five would be paid between $63,245 and $66,783 per year, while those recruited to APS level six positions would receive between $67,881 and $78,139 annually.

According to the DBCDE's applicant information sheet, applicants are expected to demonstrate "policy and/or program skills", communications skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

The Department declined to comment further on its requirements.

"The DBCDE is currently recruiting officers to fill vacancies -- some of which are currently filled on a non-ongoing basis -- in the Content Programs Branch," the spokesman told iTnews.

"The Branch provides policy advice and manages programs relating to the Government's cyber-safety commitment, including the implementation of internet filtering," the Department stated.

Applications close on 25 July. The DBCDE is also seeking a project coordinator for its information management section, a geospatial information specialist for its web services section, and a finance manager for its CFO branch.
