Compression technology to speed connections.

Opera has launched the final version of its latest browser, Opera 10, featuring an improved interface and new technology to boost the web experience for mobile workers.

The offering features Opera Turbo, a new technology which the firm says compresses pages so that less data needs to be sent, thereby speeding up page loading and enabling travellers to browse the web at "broadband-like speeds".

Also featured is a sleeker, improved interface, and tabbed browsing which now includes full thumbnails of all open tabs.

Other new features designed to boost user productivity and enhance the browsing experience include automatic updates, an automatic spell checker which supports 51 languages, and a built in mail client called Opera Mail.

"At Opera, we have always worked hard to innovate new ways to improve everyone's browsing experience," said Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive of Opera.

"Opera Turbo is our newest innovation, and one we think everyone should try, because we all face a slow connection at some point. Now, there is a solution and it is absolutely free."
