While Swine Flu and ATO dominate Australian search terms.

The latest statistics from Google showed that Bing was one of the most searched words on its competitor's search engine.

Surfers head to Google to search for Bing

According to a list of key search terms released at a 'Searchology' event in Sydney this morning, 'Bing' was the second most searched product or service on Google's Australian site, falling second only to 'Twitter'.

Microsoft launched the Bing search engine in late May in an attempt to counter Google's online dominance in internet advertising.

'Bing' was also the seventh fastest rising search word on Google's Australian site.

Ahead of it was 'Swine Flu' at number one and 'stimulus package' at number four.

The Federal Government's stimulus package also propelled the Australian Tax Office's site (ato.com.au) to the top spot for "fastest rising web site searches", with Australia's welfare agency, Centrelink, coming in at number four.

On a lighter note, Google executivess noted that searches for the 'stimulus package' rose in unison with searches for 'cosmetic surgery'.
