Microsoft gold certified partner Infoblox will today announce the launch of its Infoblox IP address management (IPAM) WinConnect system, an application which can run on Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 operating system.

Infoblox marketing vice president Richard Kagan said the IPAM WinConnect application is ideal for IT managers wanting to replace their manual processes. “Administrators will now have at their fingertips a wealth of real-time, robust IP address information previously impossible to gather with home-grown tools and spread sheets,” he argued.

Infoblox said that IT managers incorporating the application into their Windows Server 2008 rollouts will help combat the “increasingly daunting challenge of DNS-DHCP management due to the rapidly increasing number and variety of new devices being added to enterprise IP networks.

Using the Infoblox IPAM WinConnect system in conjunction with Windows Server 2008, IT managers can manage DNS, DHCP and IPAM from a single centralised console through an intuitive web-based GUI that offers a graphical and hierarchical representation of the IP map, according to the vendor. The system also provides detailed audit logs for firms needing to comply with regulatory standards, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

IPAM WinConnect system for Windows Server 2008 will be available in the second quarter of 2008.
