NextDC has added Alibaba Cloud to its list of cloud provider partnerships, giving Australian businesses better access to China’s e-commerce market and the Asia-Pacific region.
China’s largest public cloud service provider joins AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud and Oracle Cloud as NextDC’s latest cloud partner.
“NextDC is well-positioned to support Australian businesses with cloud, connectivity and data centre services as they expand into Asia, China, and the rest of the world,” NextDC head of channel Steve Martin said.
“Our partnership with Alibaba Cloud further expands the accessibility of business critical clouds to Australian organisations.”
Martin told iTnews sibling outlet CRN that Alibaba Cloud would benefit Australian organisations with a presence in or expansion plans into China and Asia, as well as its capabilities in IoT and automated or smart cities.
He added that NextDC is also targeting those seeking multi-cloud arrangements, citing interest from both customers and partners wanting to run single workloads across multiple cloud environments.
Alibaba Cloud has a strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Sydney is also one of its key data centre availability zones in the region, having opened in 2016.
